ST
MARY'S
The
main town, Hugh Town, was sold to the inhabitants
by the British crown in 1949. The rest of the
island belongs to the Duchy of Cornwall.
Other settlements on the island are Old Town, Porthloo,
Holy Vale, Maypole, Rocky Hill and Telegraph. more

TRESCO
The
main habitations are the villages of New Grimsby
and Old Grimsby in central part of the island,
where there are a shop and post office, an art gallery,
a pub, and a hotel, all of which are owned and run
by the Tresco Estate. At the south of the island
can be found the sub-tropical Tresco Abbey Gardens,
including the Valhalla Figurehead Collection, and
Tresco Heliport. There are bathing beaches at Pentle Bay,
Appletree Bay, Gimble Porth, Hotel Beach, Green Porth,
Gimble Porth, Rushy Porth. more

ST
MATINS
There
are three main settlements on the island -
Higher Town, Middle Town and Lower Town - in addition to
a number of scattered farms and cottages, with a total population
(2001 census) of 142. The island has one hotel, St Martin's
On The Isle, and one pub, The Seven Stones, in Lower Town.
A guesthouse is located in Higher Town, and one campsite,
between Lower Town and Middle Town is also present.
There are quays at Higher Town (the Higher Town Quay,
used at high tide) and at Lower Town (the Hotel Quay,
used at low tide). A bakery, St. Martins Bakery,
is located at Higher Town. To
the north, St Martin's is
joined by a tidal causeway to White Island. more

BRYHER
Varied
accommodation is available on the island.
The Hell Bay Hotel is located close to the coast
on the west side. There are guesthouses, self-catering
cottages and a campsite. Two quays are used
(depending on tides) by boats which take tourists
between Bryher and other islands, including St Mary's
and Tresco. There is also safe anchorage for
small yachts in the channel and Green Bay.
In the north of the island are the Fraggle Rock Bar,
Vine Cafe and Bryher Stores. more |

ST
AGNES
St.
Agnes joins the island of Gugh by a tombolo,
a kind of sandbar, called the Gugh Bar, which
is exposed only at low tide. The two islands
together have the smallest population of
the Scilly archipelago, with 73 residents
recorded in the 2001 census, and a
landmass
of 366 acres (148 ha). more
